Fifteen Sounds of the War on the Poor

UltraRed’s online label, Public Record, released the fourth and final installment of their Fifteen Sounds of the War on the Poor series, an electronic music exploration of the question “What is the sound of the war on the poor?” Comprised of one-minute long works by a diverse set, the release offers an eclectic mix, ranging from “microphonic interventions to musique concréte documentaries” by artists, musicians, and activists.

Material on this, and past discs probe what basis sound offers for a social and political analysis.  Contributing artists for this edition include Pablo Alvarez, Ava Bromberg, Sean Burn, Cassy, William Crisp, Elders of Zion, Ismail Farouk, Gitar, Susanne Lang & Anziska Frielinghaus, Augusto Palma, Andrew Poppy, Ilich Sabotage, Starry Zafara, T Ernest Wilbey, and Union de Vecinos.
