Good Deeds, Good Design

Good Deeds, Good Design: Community Service Through Architecture is a collection of nearly thirty essays and case studies in bringing architecture to the masses. Edited by Bryan Bell, founder of Design Corps (a nonprofit agency providing architecture to those traditionally underserved by the profession) and including case studies ranging from the role of “citizen architects” to portable housing in India, the book brings together architecture firms, community design centers, design/build programs, and service-based organizations in a comprehensive, holistic analysis of the industry that Architectural Record called “disarmingly honest.” You can find it at the Princeton Architectural Press for $30.00.
